Scope: Cover, layout design, and typesetting for a complex multilingual text
Category: Academic textbook; includes front matter; text in both English and Arabic; end matter and cover design.
Notes: Layout called for English text with Arabic throughout the text, using an English font provided for this project. It involved many tables for exercises, grammar rules, lists, and symbols, which all make the text processing quite complex. It was a challenge to ensure that the Arabic text within the various English paragraphs flows in the correct direction.
The cover was designed to resemble another Arabic grammar text, though this one maintains its distinct appearance. The books were done as a matched set (the introductory text and the detailed 650-page text gently titled ‘made simple’).
